Pope Francis

joni38
“Through humility, soul searching, and prayerful contemplation we have gained a new understanding of certain dogmas. The church no longer believes in a literal hell where people suffer. This doctrine is incompatible with the infinite love of God. God is not a judge but a friend and a lover of humanity. God seeks not to condemn but only to embrace. Like the fable of Adam and Eve, we see hell as a literary device. Hell is merely a metaphor for the isolated soul, which like all souls ultimately will be united in love with God,” Pope Francis declared.

ROCK ON!!!

Some Internet sites are reporting that Pope Francis has declared that “all religions are true,” that there is no hell, and other provocative things.

But the whole thing is an Internet hoax.

Joni, were it not for the legions of gullible people like you there would be no membership in the Democratic Party.
Most liberals like yourself continue to support failed economic programs that, according to politicians in your Party, only need more money thrown at them to make them work. You believe them. That’s being gullible.

I was going to go on and make an extensive list but I’m not. Ranting about the impracticality of government run Socialist wealth redistribution programs that have never worked anywhere will probably fall on deaf ears.
You’re too fixated on that warm fuzzy feeling you get in believing that those policies with the beautiful sounding names (which have never done anything except reduce personal initiative and create a culture of dependency) is a positive thing.
You’re not interested in practical ideas. You enjoy being gullible.

Okay. Enjoy supporting our government sponsored fake wars and worldwide violence!  I'm not the only gullible one around here.  Some reasons I am a Democrat:

1.  We need some form of gun control as our children are getting shot by maniacs.
2.  George Bush, the only man around who could get a black man elected.
3.  I'm pro-choice.
4.  Corporate greed and the redistribution of wealth (more for the very richest, less for everyone else)  is a horrible thing to see.  I was around and well in the 70s when the middle class was strong and being American actually meant something.  Now we are all just poor, barely making it while people like Mrs. Sam Walton prosper in obscene wealth.
5.  Tea party mentality (most are prejudiced, redneck & can't spell or think)  is just awful and I want to distance myself from that as far as possible.

Hey I wanted the pope to actually embrace sensible beliefs.   I just leaped at the hope that someone in a position to do good is actually using his brain and heart!   Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me for living!

These guys love to make it up as they go along.  They`ve invented a new God!  So those early and later Christians who were slain for the message of the Gospel died in vain!  Jesus died in vain!

The antichrist is here!  All he has to do now is get together with the Ayatollah and they can both fall down and worship Caesar`s horse . . . .What fun!  I know, Let`s dress `em up in clown`s clothes and have more fun!

I am saddened that it appears you are perpetuating prejudice. Just as I do not believe all democrats are ugly Hillary look a likes, please do not believe all tea party people are uneducated rednecks. While I do not agree with all the tea party's politics, I do feel they have many valid points worth consideration. An open mind helps. (Sorry if I did not spell something correctly. ;-) )

Re: Pope Francis

Doctor Who?

No theologian worth their salt would ever say that hell doesn't exist, Joni. The Bible mentions it 65 times - 23 times in the New testament alone. If Pope Francis were to say that there was no hell, then he might as well say that there is no God, which he wouldn't.
Hell in the Bible is a place of future punishment and the final destination for unbelievers. It is described in Scripture using various terms such as eternal fire, outer darkness, a place of weeping and torment, the lake of fire, the second death, unquenchable fire. The most terrifying reality of hell is that it will be a place of complete, unending separation from God.
